I'm a bitch, in disguise

French pop-punk, girl band the Plastiscines are the latest on my long list of girl crushes. If you watch Gossip Girl, you may remember them from the Cotillion/ Debutante episode in season 3, performing the foot-tappingly spunky, "Bitch". These girls are not only quirky, stylish, and enviable (the lead singer, Katty has hair to die for.) but actually quite talented. I have to say, even as a bit of a music snob myself, I find their latest album 'About Love' ridiculously catchy. All of the songs have their own distinctive, perky energy, and the vibe from these girls just makes you want to jump up onto the nearest makeshift-stage and sing your heart out.

The Nylon Records band started writing their own music while still in school and cite influences such as The Libertines, Kings of Leon and Debbie Harry. Though apparently, when they first started out, none of the girls really knew how to play an instrument. They've done okay for themselves considering ... maybe looks really can get you anywhere.
